Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) is set to lash out at Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) in upcoming EastEnders scenes as she attempts to get him to open up about his eating disorder.
Honey recently began to pick up on Ben’s discomfort surrounding food, having suffered with an eating disorder herself.
In upcoming scenes, she is set to share her own experience with bulimia in the hopes of getting Ben to open up about his own issues, after noticing further signs that he too may have bulimia.
However, Ben is still not ready to share his pain, and ends up lashing out, ordering Honey to leave.
‘Honey immediately picks up on Ben’s struggles, having suffered an eating disorder herself so she can start the see the signs,’ actor Max Bowden explained.

‘They have also gone through a period of bonding with the family coming together after Lola’s death but the internal damage the Ben holds on to forces him to push everyone away.
‘We are starting to see little sparks of growth with him, but defence is his immediate reaction.’
After she has gone, a struggling Ben breaks down, feeling horribly alone.
‘I think there’s a level of isolation to Ben’s demeanour at the moment,’ Max revealed.

‘He tends to be quite a lone wolf, quite an insular human being and this is something that he does to try and take control of the situation so I think for him right now it’s a question of dealing with everything on the outside by attacking himself on the inside.’
Still concerned, Honey turns to Callum Highway (Tony Clay) in an attempt to get him to talk to Ben.
She refuses to break Ben’s confidence, but urges him to have a chat with his husband.

However, Ben sees them together and, unaware that she has kept his secret, lashes out once more, horrified that she has broken his trust and told Callum everything.
Soon, Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick) and Jay Brown (Jamie Borthwick) are stepping in to diffuse the situation, and Lexi Pearce (Isabella Brown) demands that Ben apologise to Honey.
Later, Ben and Honey meet for a coffee at the café, where Honey urges him to let Callum in.
