Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) has been desperately trying to track down her missing mum in EastEnders, but faced opposition from sister Gina (Francesca Henry) who was keen to forget about her altogether.
After hiring a private investigator, Anna was informed that he had found a lead on her mum, after a bank account in Spain had been shut down.
Though dad George had urged her to drop it altogether, Anna’s curiosity got the better of her, and she allowed investigator Gabriel to continue pursuing the case, until she realised the extent of the trauma it was causing for sister Gina.
When she found Gina with a bag of cocaine, she knew that she had to do something, and vowed to drop the investigation entirely if Gina promised not to touch the drug again.
Anna is determined to keep the vow, but in upcoming scenes she will be faced with a new dilemma, as Gabriel gets back in contact.

While trying to enjoy Bernie Taylor’s (Clair Norris) birthday party, Anna is distracted by a text.
She confides in Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier) that it is the investigator getting back in touch, and after a conversation she decides that she has to hear what he has to tell her.
Has he managed to track down her mum?

Viewers will know that Anna’s mum is actually Cindy Beale, who had been living under the name Rose Knight after being put into witness protection in 1998.
However, Cindy recently learnt that her protection had come to an end, and she was free to return to her old life.

What she doesn’t know is that the family she left behind nine years ago are now living in her old haunt, and with Cindy set to return alongside Ian and Peter Beale (Adam Woodyatt and Thomas Law), it is only a matter of time before their paths cross.
Whenever that happens, the resulting scenes are set to be explosive.
