Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) is set to find a new supporter in his cancer fight, and EastEnders viewers may be surprised to learn that it won’t be Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace).
In recent scenes, Kat learnt the truth about Alfie’s prostate cancer scare, and rushed to the hospital to be with him as he got his results.
After seeing how upset she was, Alfie told Kat that he had got the all clear, something which will prove to have been a lie in upcoming episodes.
Having learnt about Phil Mitchell’s (Steve McFadden) passionate moment with Emma Harding (Patsy Kensit) ahead of his wedding to Kat, Alfie head’s to Peggy’s to have it out with him.

Once the pair are alone, Alfie throws a punch, and as they battle it out, it soon becomes clear that Phil’s infidelity isn’t the only thing Alfie is struggling with.
Soon, Alfie reveals that he had lied about the results, and emotionally tells Phil that he does have prostate cancer.
Phil is stunned as Alfie explains that he has to have a prostatectomy, leaving Phil and Alfie to head their separate ways alone, with Phil off to the registry office and Alfie getting a cab to the hospital.

When Linda learns from Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths) that Alfie had gone to the hospital, she puts two and two together and heads over to be there for him.
What will Alfie make of Linda’s support in this difficult time?
