Former EastEnders star Sean Maguire is making a return to our screens after a 13 year break.

The actor, best known for his role as Aidan Brosnan in the BBC One soap, will feature in the first episode of the new series of Death in Paradise.

Returning to the show will be Ralf Little – who plays DI Neville Parker – Don Warrington (The Commissioner), Shantol Jackson (DS Naomi Thomas), Tahj Miles (Marlon Pryce), Ginny Holder (Darlene Curtis) and Élizabeth Bourgine (Catherine Bordey).

The opening instalment, which will also be the show’s 100th episode, will see Commissioner Selwyn Patterson shot by a mysterious assassin. The team must work together to find the person responsible, all while hoping the beloved character will survive.

Within this dramatic and tense storyline, Death in Paradise will welcome back Sean Maguire, who is the first ever guest actor to reprise their role.

Back in 2011, Sean – who moved to Los Angeles in 2001 – appeared in the show’s opening episode called Arriving in Paradise. He played Marlon Collins, and recently took to social media to express his happiness over being asked to return.
