Former EastEnders star Samantha Womack has revealed her next job after beating cancer last year.
The Ronnie Mitchell actress will be taking to the stage in a touring production of the iconic musical 42nd Street later this year.
The show tells the story of young Peggy Sawyer, who dreams of becoming a star, leaving her small home town behind for the bright lights of Broadway.
Sam will be stepping into the role of Dorothy Brock; a seasoned Broadway star who has passed her prime, and is renowned for her inability to dance.
This cast of seasoned professionals is made up of a number of famous faces, including two other former soap stars.
Michael Praed, who played Frank Clayton between 2016 and 2019, will be playing notorious director Julian Marsh and Corrie icon Les Dennis will take on the role of Bert Barry.

Sam is no stranger to treading the boards, having also starred in productions of The Addams Family as Morticia Addams, The Girl on the Train as Rachel Watson, and The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe as the White Witch, since leaving the BBC soap.
Her final scenes as Ronnie Mitchell left viewers devastated, as the character drowned in a swimming pool alongside beloved sister Roxy (Rita Simons) on her wedding day to Jack Branning (Scott Maslen).
Last year, the actress revealed that she was battling breast cancer, following the sad news that Olivia Newton John had passed away.

In December, she announced that she was officially cancer free, after undergoing treatment.
‘I just feel really thankful and really grateful that I caught it when I did,’ she told OK! Magazine at the time.
