Denise Fox (Diane Parish) is set to face heartbreak in upcoming EastEnders scenes as she discovers Jack Branning’s (Scott Maslen) night of passion with Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner).
Last week, viewers saw Stacey and Jack finally give in to temptation following Jack’s row with Denise over their broken trust, after he failed to move on from her affair with Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara).
Denise is set to be left heartbroken when she heads back to No.41 to fight for her marriage, only to find that Jack has slept with another woman.
When she realises that it wasn’t just any woman, but Stacey, Denise is devastated, as actress Diane Parish revealed.
‘I think once Denise finds out, I think it’s total betrayal. Total betrayal. Not just from Jack, but from somebody that she really considered as a friend.

‘Out of all the people in the Square, Denise has had a lot of beef and I’ve never had beef with Stacey. Denise never had beef with her. She’s never had any problems with her and she was very supportive about the whole thing with the baby and everything like that.
‘So it’s like literally the rug being pulled completely from under her because, you know, I think Denise is okay because of what happened with Ravi. She’s been racked with guilt over that and felt like the trust has been broken, and she has been working so hard to get that back.

‘I think if he’d said look, I picked up some, some girl, it was a one night thing, I was drunk, she’d have been okay.’
Though Denise is heart broken, and Jack is at risk of being the body on the floor of the Queen Vic this Christmas, Diane still has hope for their marriage in the future.

‘We joke that me, Scott [Maslen], Ellie [Dadd], little Frankie [Day], we all joke and call ourselves the Dysfunctionals, you know, like The Incredibles. We’re the Dysfunctionals because we’ve got so much going on.
‘I think that you do get those fractured families that just keep on making it back somehow and maybe there is a way back. I would like to think that there’s a way back for them as a family because what I’ve loved about this family is you’ve got everything in there.

‘We’re diverse, we’re a middle aged couple that have been through it all but worked through it all and the mix of our families in terms of Patrick and his relationship with Jack has been lovely to watch.
‘I think that they’re, they’re an important family in the fabric of the UK, in terms of what they represent, in terms of diversity and in terms of age and all those sorts of things and, and mental health and making it through. I think it’s important.’
