EastEnders fans have spotted the sneakiest Christmas murder clue yet and it’s a baffling one

Ever since the EastEnders episode that featured a flash-forward sequence way back in February, fans have turned detective to try and find clues within future instalments.

In case you need reminding (if so, where have you been), the scene featured The Six aka Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth), Denise Fox (Diane Parish), Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner) and Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) in the pub on Christmas Day.

Sharon – who is wearing a wedding dress – is then seen approaching a body on the floor and, moments later, she confirms he is dead.

Since then, six special trailers have been released throughout the year, all airing after an important moment in the respective characters’ storylines.

The final trailer that dropped this week focused on Suki Panesar.

The beloved character was planning on leaving Walford to start a new life with Eve Unwin (Heather Peace). However, when Nish (Navin Chowdhry) saw Suki and Eve kissing, his anger grew and decided to try and get revenge.

He instructed Ravi (Aaron Thiara) to murder an unconscious Eve and get rid of the body but, when they arrived at the woods, the showdown didn’t play out in the way Nish wanted.

Unable to go through with killing her, Ravi insisted that she run away and never come back, or risk Stacey and Suki getting hurt as well.

He warned her that he had killed before, and devastated Eve realised she had no choice but to get away, leaving soulmate Suki behind forever.

During one scene in the woods, that saw Eve hide from Ravi, eagle-eyed fans picked up on a huge clue behind her.

It seems the ‘6th’ had been carved in the tree near Eve, leaving many to wonder what that connects to.

Some people are wondering if it’s a clue to an episode that will be broadcasted on December 6, or a previous episode that aired on the 6th features a hint that connects to the Christmas Day murder.

Alternatively, some audience members are wondering if the date is confirmation the sixth member of The Six kills the man in question in a few weeks time.

Depending on what way you look at it, this could either be Kathy or Suki, given her trailer was released last.
