Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek hopes to kickstart his career again after joining Frankfurt on loan.
The Dutchman, who joined United in a £35m deal from Ajax in 2020, has failed to live up to his reputation at Old Trafford.
Van de Beek joined under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, but the Norwegian was sacked 15 months later.
He joined Everton on loan following Ralf Rangnick’s appointment and it was hoped that the arrival of Erik ten Hag, who he played under in Amsterdam, would resurrect his time at the club.
However, a nasty knee injury in December 2022 proved terminal and Van de Beek has played just 21 minutes of action this season – two of which were in the Premier League.

In all, he made 62 appearances for United and scored just twice.
Frankfurt have the option of signing Van de Beek on a permanent deal at the end of his loan deal.
The Germans have included a £10m option to buy, which could increase to around £12m.
United must offload players this month in order to make way for incomings.
The club are open to offers for Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho, Casemiro and Raphael Varane.
