    Dillian Whyte says “I’m coming for war” ahead of rematch with Alexander Povetkin

    With the much-anticipated rematch of Dillian Whyte and Alexander Povetkin finally happening on Saturday night, Whyte has said he his “coming for war” this time out against Povetkin.

    Last time out in the first bout between Whyte and Povetkin, Whyte managed to knock down Povetkin twice in the fourth round, before Povetkin’s big uppercut on Whyte in the fifth round ended the fight.

    Whyte is ready for war in Povetkin rematch

    Dillian Whyte was knocked out in the fifth round in his first fight with Alexander Povetkin.

    “I can knock out any man on this planet.” Whyte told Sky Sports “You’ve seen me knock out guys that don’t usually get knocked out.”

    Whyte, whose record is 27-2, admits Povetkin is a “top fighter” but isn’t fazed.

    “I’m coming for war on Saturday night. I’m coming to put the hurt on him as soon as possible. I’m coming to do damage.”

    Furthermore, Whyte has also claimed that Povetkin’s corner almost threw in the towel after the fourth round.

    “He was done – they (Povetkin’s corner) were saying ‘we are pulling you out at the end of this round’.”

    However, Povetkin denied these claims, stating that people who know him, know that the 36-2 Russian fights “until the end”.

    Whyte also claims that Povetkin told him after the fight “you are way better than I thought, you are very strong, very good.”

    “This is 100% the biggest fight of my career so far”

    Whyte also told BBC Sports’ Henry Ditchfield how he believes “this is 100% the biggest fight of my career so far.”

    Whyte claims this because it’s an immediate rematch with someone he lost to in his last fight.

    Whyte, who says he’s “excited” and that “this is just another fight” has brought in outside help to better prepare him for his rematch against Povetkin.

    “We’ve brought in Lennox Lewis’ former coach, Harold ‘The Shadow’ Knight.” before adding “Harold helped Lennox to two rematch victories. He brings experience, calmness and confidence to the camp and has helped me to be more consistent.”

    In addition, Whyte says he is “grateful” to have Harold Knight around, mentioning how he’s “integrated well into our team.”

    The rematch finally takes place this Saturday in Gibraltar, where you can watch it live on Sky Sports Box Office from 6pm.

    Whyte's chance to exact revenge on Povetkin comes on Saturday night in Gibraltar, live on Sky Sports Box Office.
