I was aware of Combs’s ‘capabilities, access to guns and threats he made’, says Cassie
Cassie Ventura is continuing her evidence, telling the court about incidents of alleged violence by Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The former couple were together on and off for about 11 years, from 2007 to 2018.
She is asked about an alleged incident in a car after dinner at a restaurant in 2007, so very early in their relationship.
“He hit me on the side of my head and I fell to the floor of the Escalade,” she told jurors. “I was shocked, I didn’t understand what happened and why he was so angry.”
Ms Ventura also tells the court she was aware of Combs’s “capabilities, his access to guns, and threats he made”.
The court hears about another incident in Los Angeles, when she says she was called about a party at Prince’s house. She says she did not tell Combs as he would not have approved, but he showed up.
She says she caught a “glimpse” of him and “ran out as fast as I could because I thought he was angry”.
Combs “came after” her, the court hears.
Ms Ventura says her memory of the incident is a “little fuzzy” but she remembers running and falling into bushes, and then getting back to her hotel in Beverly Hills.
Combs “burst” into the room, she says, and they had a fight. “He beat me up,” she alleges, “and threw luggage at me”. She tells the court she suffered bruising on her face.
