The latest news surrounding the upcoming Daredevil: Born Again series on Disney Plus has fans both extremely excited… and crestfallen.
This week, it was announced that Jon Bernthal is reportedly reprising his role as Punisher in the Marvel TV show, returning to star opposite Charlie Cox as lawyer Matt Murdock and Vincent D’Onofrio as the villainous Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin.
Many people who adored the original Netflix drama were hoping that more original cast members would also join the ranks – but it’s been claimed that Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson, who played Matt’s coworkers and friends Karen and Foggy respectively, won’t be coming back.
According to a report, the actors are not on the cast list for the series, which is currently in production.
The Hollywood Reporter added that it’s not yet certain if the characters will be recast or removed from the story completely.
Given how beloved Karen and Foggy were Daredevil, having both been in the story since season one, numerous fans are heartbroken that they may not be back.

‘Why aren’t Foggy and Karen coming back? I don’t understand,’ one confused person asked on Twitter.
‘You can’t do Daredevil without foggy and Karen, they were so perfectly cast. This decision makes NO sense at all,’ another remarked.
Someone else wrote: ‘It’s quite simply an awful fumble from Marvel not to include Karen and Foggy. Their dynamic as a trio is what held Daredevil together with its incredible performances and writing. It won’t be the same.’
One fan put forward a theory that perhaps Daredevil: Born Again may be set during the Blip – the five-year period after Avengers: Infinity War when half of the world’s population had disappeared – and so perhaps they could end up returning for season two.
Meanwhile, another speculated that Foggy and Karen could show up as a welcome surprise at some point on the show.
In November last year, Deborah spoke out to reveal that she hadn’t yet been asked to be a part of the Daredevil reboot.
Speaking on Smallville actor Michael Rosenbaum’s podcast Inside Of You, she said: ‘I can say this: they have not called me yet. So, as of now, I am not a part of it. I would be thrilled to get to be a part of it. They know where I am.’
She continued: ‘Like I said, I love the character Karen Page. I love telling that story. I feel like I have more to say. But it is up to them what kind of story that they want to tell.’
Daredevil: Born Again is available to watch on Disney Plus.
