Danny Dyer has issued some stern words of advice for Dani Dyer following her ‘heartbreaking’ exit from Strictly Come Dancing.
The 29-year-old former Love island star was forced to withdraw from this year’s Strictly after sustaining an injury, when she fractured her ankle in rehearsals.
Fellow Love Islander and West End performer Amber Davies replaced Dani on the BBC series, to the dismay of some fans who have claimed that she is ‘too experienced.’
However, during a chat on the Live and Let Dyers podcast that Dani hosts with her father, the 29-year-old tearfully described how hard it has been to exit the series.
‘Honestly, it’s been so heartbreaking and I think I needed to grieve it… I’ll just have to put my little sparkly dress aside for now,’ she told her father.

‘I haven’t really had any ambition, I’ve not wanted to get out of bed. I’ve been laying and crying a lot.’

Rivals star Danny replied: ‘I know that this is a very tricky thing for you and you’ve only just been able to talk about it now.
‘Your whole winter has completely changed in an instant; the rug was pulled from under you. I don’t think you can compute it, none of us can.
‘What you’ve got to do is, which you have, is pull up them big girl knickers, and we f****** get on with it, because up to this point it’s been an incredible year. You’ve done some amazing stuff”
Dani went on to explain how Strictly is ‘one of the biggest jobs on TV’ and it is ‘such a privilege to do it’.
‘I remember them ringing me just before my wedding [to Jarrod Bowen] and it was the best news ever… I was so ready for it and it is months of preparation.
‘You have your photo shoots, you do chemistry tests, you meet all the dancers. It’s so many months of build-up and excitement, and it’s just been completely taken from me.’
She added: ‘It’s so hard because I was having the best time of my life. I was so happy, I was so excited… I really wanted to dance with Nikita, he’s funny and we got along. When I was partnered with Nikita I was like this is great, the stars have aligned, this is meant to be.’
Discussing her injury, Dani previously said in a post on Instagram that she had ‘landed funny’.

‘I thought I had rolled my foot but it swelled up badly over the weekend and after an MRI scan yesterday, it turns out I have fractured my ankle,’ she said.
‘Apparently doing the quickstep on a fracture is not advisable (!!) and the doctors have said I am not allowed to dance so l’ve had to pull out of the show. To say I’m heartbroken is the biggest understatement.
‘I am so going to miss dancing with Nikita but will of course be watching closely and cheering all the couples on.’
Following her exit, head judge Shirley Ballas has made it clear that Dani would be welcome back on the show.
Asked by Danny whether she would go back, Dani confessed: ‘I would absolutely love to go back. Obviously, it’s a year away, but yeah. My door is open; if they want their door to be open, I’ll walk through their door.’
Her actor father then pointed out how her children would be able to enjoy what she was doing more as they would be more aware next year.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One and iPlayer on Saturday, October 4.
