Dan Walker’s Channel 5 programme has come under fire after a blunder over The Wanted’s Tom Parker.
Parker died on March 30 last year at the age of 33 after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour.
The late singer documented his cancer treatment to raise awareness, with wife Kelsey Parker now continuing to fundraise in his legacy.
Speaking about his late friend in an emotional interview, Siva appeared on Dan’s news show discussing his time on Dancing On Ice, and one particular dance dedicated to Parker.
He held back tears saying: ‘I’m getting emotional ten seconds into the interview.
‘It was beautiful, because I was so worried… I just wanted to deliver a nice performance for him, deliver a nice memory for his wife and the kids.
‘When his voice started, when you look at the opening scene, I’m like gasping “Tom get me through this”.

‘I’m just so glad it worked out well, and I made a moment and a core memory for the kids.’
However, viewers were distracted by Siva’s comments as they noticed a slight blunder.
The Channel 5 tag had a spelling error of Parker’s name, writing: ‘Siva Kaneswaran pays tribute to bandmate Tom Walker’.
One person seethed: ‘@mrdanwalker you didn’t reply to me I asked about the interview last night with @SivaKaneswaran on the loss of Tom Parker it showed his name as Tom walker ? How bad was that.’

Another wrote: ‘Who is Tom Walker, channel 5?’ with a third penning: ‘Tom Walker? Wrong Tom!’
The comments come after Siva reflected on his late friend’s life ahead of his Dancing On Ice debut.
Looking back on his career with the pop group, the 34-year-old Irish star said: ‘When I think of the past, I just think about Tom.’
‘Last year Tom passed away…’, he said before becoming tearful.

‘I guess I’m still grieving.’
Siva continued: ‘I witnessed his courage when he was fighting with his illness and it was so inspiring.’
He said Parker’s bravery has now encouraged him to face his own fears.
Dan Walker hosts 5 News at 5pm on Channel 5, while Dancing On Ice is available to watch on ITVX.
