    Coronavirus victim, 21, ‘had no health issues’

    BBC News says a 21-year-old woman with no underlying health issues has died after contracting coronavirus, according to her family. chloe middleton, coronavirus death

    Chloe Middleton, from High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire died last week. 

    On Facebook, her aunt said Ms Middleton “has passed away from Covid-19” and urged others to “do your bit” to stop the spread of the disease. 

    Government figures show that most patients who have died from the coronavirus had pre-existing medical conditions. 

    There have been concerns that younger people were ignoring warnings over its spread, believing only the elderly are at risk. 

    Ms Middleton’s family have urged the public to follow safety advice and take the virus “seriously.”

    With the disease sweeping around the world at a terrifying pace, warnings are multiplying over its economic consequences, with experts saying it could cause more damage than the Great Depression. 

    UN Secretary-General Antoni Guterres called for the world to act together to halt the menace. “COVID-19 is threatening the whole of humanity — and the whole of humanity must fight back.”

    France recalling troops from Iraq over coronavirus

    RT News says Paris will remove all of its troops currently stationed in Iraq for the time being over concerns about the spread of Covid-19, the French military have said. france withdraws troops from iraq over coronavirus fears

    “France has taken the decision to repatriate until further notice its personnel deployed in operation Chammal in Iraq,” the Armed Forces Ministry said on Wednesday. Adding around 100 troops were in the country and air-strikes against IS would continue.

    France has been in Iraq and Syria since 2014. Its Operation Chammal aimed to stem the expansion of the self-styled terrorist ‘caliphate,’ flying airstrikes over both countries and sending a limited number of ground troops to Iraq.

    Kabul Sikh temple siege: Dozens killed in an attack claimed by ISIL

    Aljazeera News says Afghan forces have killed gunmen who attacked a Sikh religious complex in Kabul, ending an dozens killed in Kabul Sikh temple siege - attack claimed by ISIShours-long siege that killed 25 people.

    The attack on Wednesday was claimed by the ISIL (ISIS) armed group. Earlier, the Taliban armed group denied it was behind the siege that left at least eight others wounded.  

    A witness told AFP that a man dressed in a police uniform burst into the temple in central Kabul shot a guard and started attacking worshippers in the main hall. 

    “Several other attackers also entered the building and they were going from room to room shooting people,” the witness said.

    Arab News says the far-right extremist who is charged with murdering 51 Muslim worshippers in last year’s mass NZ mosque shooter changes plea to guiltyshooting at two New Zealand mosques unexpectedly flipped his plea to guilty on Thursday. 

    Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern and the Muslim community expressed relief at the surprise decision, which removes the need for a lengthy trial that authorities feared would be used to spout neo-Nazi propaganda. 

    Self-avowed white supremacist Brenton Tarrant, 29, had previously denied 51 charges of murder, 40 of attempted murder and one of terrorism but reversed his plea in a hurriedly arranged court hearing.
