The mini-budget has been dumped by Jeremy Hunt in a catastrophic humiliation for Liz Truss, writes the Daily Mirror. 

The paper sums it up with the headline: “Humiliated” as it adds the prime minister’s own MPs are plotting a coup. One Tory said Ms Truss has “poured petrol over everything”, it says. 

The paper also leads with a picture of Rod Stewart alongside a Ukrainian refugee family he is hosting. The paper quotes the rocker as saying he likes to keep his charitable efforts “nice and quiet” but hopes by making his actions public others might be inspired to help.
