The Reform UK leader accused Paris of “aiding and abetting the criminal gangs” cramming asylum seekers into small boats. The Daily Express joined Mr Farage on the Channel on Tuesday morning and witnessed a French rescue ship following a migrant dinghy for several hours as it made its way towards the halfway point. Princess Anne six-word health update as Sir Timothy Laurence leaves the hospital
Princess Anne is “doing fine”, according to her husband Sir Timothy Laurence, who confirmed her condition as he left the hospital in which she is receiving treatment. The Princess Royal was injured by a horse on her Gatcombe Park estate on Sunday night. As a result, she was admitted to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with concussion and minor injuries, where she remains. Buckingham Palace confirmed the incident in a statement on Monday. England face UEFA punishment after breaching rules in Slovenia Euro 2024 draw
England could be penalised by UEFA because of the irate reactions of some fans to their 0-0 Euro 2024 draw with Slovenia on Tuesday night. Three other countries participating in the tournament have already been reprimanded for similar behaviour from their supporters. Despite an uninspired performance against a team currently ranked 57th in the world rankings, the Three Lions managed to secure top spot in Group C to qualify for the round of 16. Many of Wednesday’s newspapers focus on the Wikileaks founder Julian Assange – who agreed to a plea deal that has seen him set free. He is en route to his native Australia ending a years-long legal battle.
Elsewhere, the betting scandal is also splashed on the papers as another Tory has been implicated in the scandal, and Labour has also found itself wrapped up in the political mess.
Labour has been out and about spreading its election messaging in this morning’s newspaper briefings – convincing readers that the party has changed since 2019 and sharing plans of how they’ll improve the NHS.
Many of the papers feature pictures of Harry Kane as England are through to the Round of 16 at the Euros – although the team’s performance has been widely panned for being flat and boring.
