Covid winter plan B: School bubbles and masks for pupils could return if cases surge
The i says classrooms “bubbles” could be brought back to control mixing between school pupils if Covid infections surge this autumn and winter, i understands.
While the system would be used to limit children’s interactions, it would not usually involve whole classes being sent home as last year.
Masks will also be reintroduced in schools suffering outbreaks, while secondary school students have been asked to keep taking weekly lateral flow tests until at least Christmas.
