‘The pandemic is not over’: Covid hospitalisations are on the rise again
The Metro says the coronavirus pandemic is not over and the number of older people falling ill with the virus is increasing, experts have warned.
While new data indicates cases have fallen substantially since the peak of the Omicron wave in January, infections in England are rising among those aged 55 and older.
As case numbers rise the number of people being admitted into hospital after testing positive for Covid is also increasing across England, Scotland and Wales.
The uptick comes after a period where hospitalisations appeared to be falling.
