As Stephen Reid’s (Todd Boyce) reign of terror continues in Coronation Street, some fans have started asking one question in particular.
When is it going to end?
Arriving initially as Audrey’s (Sue Nicholls) businessman son who was in Weatherfield to spend time with his family in England, Stephen was established as the next villain on the cobbles after he murdered Leo Thompkins (Joe Frost), who had worked out that Stephen was trying to take Audrey’s money from her.

The character then murdered Teddy, Leo’s dad, after he figured out that Stephen knew more about Leo’s disappearance than he was letting on.
Most recently, it was fellow businessman Rufus Donohue who lost his life after he told Stephen that he knows all about him drugging Carla (Alison King) with LSD.

While it’s exciting to have a dark storyline where no-one on the cobbles is safe, it’s inevitable that Stephen will leave the show eventually once his secrets are revealed.
But how will that be?
Todd Boyce has been pondering over this for a while and recently revealed a surprising reason why he thinks Stephen’s final scenes will involve him dying.
‘I share a dressing room with Dan Brocklebank [who plays Billy Mayhew] who is just so much fun and so wonderful’, he told Inside Soap.

‘He tells me that everyone who’s sat in my chair, their character has died! So it’s a bit of a haunted chair. Dan has been in the show for 10 years, so that’s a bit scary!’.
Elsewhere, Stephen could be set to murder again soon when Rufus’ wife Lou arrives and expresses her thoughts on her partner’s death.

Lou will eventually get her hands on a tie pin that was found near Rufus’ dead body, unaware that it belongs to Stephen.
‘He’s absolutely hating himself for wearing that pin’, Todd added.
‘He’s kicking himself. It feels as though the walls are closing in now, and he’s thinking, “Oh, God, no!”. He’s been able to convince himself that he’ll never have to murder again, but he’s in denial.’
