It was a double celebration for Coronation Street star Liam McCheyne recently when he celebrated his 17th birthday – along with his twin brother Connor.
The actor – who plays troubled teen Dylan Wilson in the soap – shared the birthday love on his Instagram account, paying tribute to the bond he shares with his brother.
‘17 years of sharing a birthday with @connormccheyne never a day where we’re not laughing. Both have different ideas and pathways, but we have the same person to always trust. I wouldn’t have it any other way. ❤️’ he wrote alongside a series of snaps of the two brothers at various stages of their lives.
Beginning with a cute shot of them both grinning happily at the seaside and others with them suited and booted for a special occasion, on the sports field, at school and dressed up in army gear, it’s clear that the two are best friends as well as brothers.

The resemblance between them is astonishing – so much so that at one point they both played the same person in Corrie.
Liam and Connor shared the role of Dylan Wilson from 2011 to 2012, but the character left the cobbles when Dylan went to live with his mum Violet in London.
When Dylan returned to Weatherfield last year, Liam took on the role permanently, with Connor deciding to focus on other things instead.

Since Dylan came back to the Street he’s been involved in an intense bullying storyline which has found him being exploited by the sinister and thuggish Mason (Luca Toolan).
Viewers have seen Liam’s conflicted feelings as he’s been forced to pick on younger neighbour Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall) – who has been driven to the point of taking some desperate action in an effort to free himself of the bullying.

‘He’s very easily influenced so I don’t think he realises what he’s getting himself into. He wants to fit in with the cool kids and be like them,’ Liam reflected when the storyline was first announced.

He’s clearly a popular member of the Corrie cast with a host of his co-stars keen to wish him – and his brother – a happy birthday on his Instagram post.
