Tracy Barlow’s (Kate Ford) birthday left her feeling a little bit frustrated and underwhelmed in Tuesday’s (January 23) episode of Coronation Street.
In all honesty, Tracy’s day started off badly and just got worse. When she excitedly opened her present from Steve (Simon Gregson), her smile dropped when it turned out to be a cherry stone pillow, something that’s meant to help sleeping and muscle relaxation.
Annoyed that Steve hadn’t made her feel special, Tracy concluded that she’d like her bedroom redecorating – and wants Steve to start asap.
However, while in the flower shop, Tracy started talking about Steve’s task with Mary (Patti Clare) and accepted he probably won’t get a lot done, and will more than likely pass time by drinking his bodyweight in tea.

Returning home, Tracy’s anger towards Steve grew when he revealed daughter Emma wants him to visit her in Paris.

Heading back out after a birthday she won’t remember in a hurry, Tracy announced that she’ll be searching for a professional painter and decorator – which will turn out to be former footballer Tommy Orpington (Matt Millburn).
As Steve leaves for France and Tommy is welcomed back to Weatherfield, the storyline will develop into a sordid affair as Tracy enjoys doing more than admiring Tommy’s skill with a paintbrush.
