Things have changed again (Picture: ITV)
Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) was given some major news in Coronation Street after killing Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce).
Yesterday (October 24), Audrey (Sue Nicholls) visited Peter at his flat and said Jenny (Sally Ann Matthews) knew that Stephen wasn’t going to kill her a few weeks ago, when he held a broken bottle to her neck outside the pub.
This obviously contradicted Peter’s story, which stated he hit Stephen with his car because he thought Jenny would end up dead if not.
DS Swain (Vicky Myer) arrived in tonight’s (October 25) instalment, informing Peter that he needed to go to the station for further questioning.

Joined by Adam (Sam Robertson), Peter listened as Swain wondered if he knew about the conversation between Jenny and Stephen.
After some time to go over the interview, Swain returned and informed Peter that he was free to go.

The detective explained that she’s aware Peter’s actions came from a place of wanting to protect Jenny and therefore, didn’t need to go to prison.
Utterly relieved, Peter returned home but then started to struggle with his emotions and what had happened.
He was found in the precinct by Toyah (Georgia Taylor), who managed to stop Peter from breaking his no smoking cycle.
Sitting down next to him, Toyah reflected on going through a similar situation to Peter.

Last year, Imran (Charlie De Melo) died as a result of the crash that happened when Toyah was behind the wheel of their car. In the aftermath, Toyah spiralled as she came to the realisation her actions caused a man to die – the same as Peter.
Toyah told Peter that now, it’s incredibly important to find a way of coping with what’s happened. She said that everyday will be tough but if he doesn’t move forward, the ordeal will eat him alive.
Terrified about relapsing and turning to drink, Peter decided to head to another AA meeting.

Returning to the Barlow household, Peter told Adam, Tracy (Kate Ford) and Ken (William Roache) that he’s doing alright but when Tracy and Ken were left alone, they both accepted Peter was hiding how he’s really feeling.
With Chris Gascoyne’s exit on the way, just how will Peter leave now if he isn’t going to prison?
