The end is finally nigh for Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce) in Coronation Street as the killer’s crimes catch up with him, with new pictures from an on-location shoot confirming that a body is found.
Cast members of the ITV soap were spotted filming in Manchester for upcoming scenes, which see a car rooftop box being removed from the canal.
Helen Worth, Sally Dynevor, Colson Smith and Vicky Myers, who play Gail Platt, Sally Metcalfe, PC Craig Tinker and DS Swain respectively, were all pictured in character as the scenes were shot, with everyone appearing shocked by the discovery.
Paula Wilcox, who plays Elaine Jones, was also scene, and this is of particular interest given that she was recently written out of the show after her character worked out that Stephen is up to no good.
Will Elaine’s return prove instrumental in the killer’s downfall?
As for the rooftop box, fans of the serial drama will know that Stephen used the item in question to dispose of the body of Teddy, who became his second victim.

Teddy, as viewers will recall, was the father of Leo, who was tragically killed by Stephen last year, becoming the murderer’s first kill. Teddy made it his mission to find out what happened to his son and soon enough he worked out that Stephen was to blame.
Stephen desperately tried to cover his tracks, before ultimately resorting to murder once more, killing the grieving father and getting rid of his body during a particularly dark night, using the rooftop box, which he loaded with heavy rocks, to sink the corpse to the bottom of the canal.
He’s nothing if not resourceful, we guess.

Elaine, meanwhile, was excited to marry Stephen, unaware of his true nature, but she soon started to suspect that he was up to no good, with her own son Tim later confronting the killer.
Tim, who has long been suspicious of him, will become Stephen’s next target, with earlier pictures from this week’s on-location shoot seeing the killer going out of his way to try and murder the taxi driver.
Whether or not he’ll succeed remains to be seen, but the latest batch of photos from the filming indicates that something sinister has taken place, with the characters present at the police cordon – Gail, Elaine and Sally – all having a direct link to either Stephen, Tim or both.

Have they perhaps been notified of what’s taken place?
We’ll just have to wait and see, but the truth about Stephen’s crimes are set to catch up with him – that much we know – so it’s only a matter of time before he pays for what he’s done.
