Coronation Street spoilers: Sarah and Carla at war after surprise decision

Difficult decisions are made (Picture: ITV)

Before killer Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce)’s reign of terror came to an end in Coronation Street he’d managed to empty the Underworld bank account.

He did this by manipulating Michael Bailey (Ryan Russell) into giving him access to the account. Once he had that, he transferred all of the cash into an account he’d set up especially for the purpose.

When factory owner Carla Connor (Alison King) realised what had happened she was obviously furious with Michael for allowing himself to be used in Stephen’s plan to destroy her business.

Because Michael had given the information to Stephen it meant that the factory’s insurance wouldn’t cover the loss, leaving Carla facing the end of her business.

With Carla setting off to Spain to try and strike a deal that could save Underworld, she left Sarah (Tina O’Brien) holding the fort – and gave her instructions to fire Michael immediately.

Reluctantly Sarah did as she was asked, and Michael was devastated. He tried to plead his case by saying he’d had some more design ideas that could help them out, but Sarah had had her orders.

Michael accepted his fate, but Dee Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown) convinced him that he should fight harder for his job, and when he made a fresh case to Sarah she relented and gave him his job back.

Coming up, Carla returns from Spain in a bad mood to begin with because her trip to Spain hasn’t led to any more work for the factory. When she hears that Michael is still an employee, she’s furious at Sarah.

Carla isn’t convinced, even when Michael tells her he’s working on some new designs that are looking really promising. But when a potential new client comes in for a meeting Carla realises that Michael’s designs might be just what she needs to clinch the deal and tells him to bring his portfolio.

Will she end up being glad that Sarah kept Michael at the factory if his designs win over the new client?
