For all her good intentions, Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) has ended up in a very difficult situation on Coronation Street after pretending to be Ryan (Ryan Prescott)’s former girlfriend Crystal in numerous text messages – and it’s about to come back to bite her.
After Ryan was horrifically injured in an acid attack that was meant for Daisy, she felt guilty and responsible for what had happened.
As he began his recovery Daisy attempted to distract him by sending messages that he thought were from Crystal – although Daisy knew that Crystal couldn’t handle Ryan’s injuries and didn’t want to see him.
As time went on, Ryan started to fall for the person he assumed was Crystal, little realising that it was Daisy he was texting with.
This all came to a head in a recent episode when Daisy continued texting Ryan, who knew the texts weren’t genuine because the real Crystal was in a coma at the time.

While Ryan now knows he was being catfished, he doesn’t know that Daisy was behind it, but that’s set to change in upcoming episodes.
Daisy pays a visit to Ryan, who tells her he’s missed her and leans in for a kiss. Daisy reciprocates – but they’re interrupted by Carla (Alison King).
Ryan’s feelings are in turmoil when a chat with Max (Paddy Bever) makes him realise that Daisy was the person catfishing him.
He confronts Daisy, who tries to explain that she knew Crystal didn’t want anything to do with him and she was only trying to protect him from being hurt.
Ryan Prescott told us how Ryan is feeling at that point.

‘There has been a lot of natural chemistry between Ryan and “Crystal” and Ryan is finding joy in investing in their relationship,’ he said.
‘So to find out that it’s been Daisy the whole time would make him feel humiliated because he has been very raw and himself with this person.
‘He would feel so deceived because it’s such a huge lie to play for such a long time so he would feel like he was a toy and that he’s a game to Daisy.
He would feel an explosion of contempt for Daisy because he feels like he has lost Crystal and Daisy in one fell swoop.’
Angry and humiliated, Ryan throws her out. Daisy continues to try to defend herself, saying that she only had the best of intentions for him.
This is too much for Ryan and he tells her that he’s going to tell Daniel (Rob Mallard) that they kissed. Daisy is left horrified, knowing that her relationship with Daniel could be about to be destroyed.
