Aadi and Amy kiss (Picture: ITV)
Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) took some risky action in recent Coronation Street episodes as she decided to take the law into her own hands to deal with a man she saw spiking someone’s drink.
The scenes saw Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain) receive a message from Amy. When he drove to the club where she was, she was with a man called Dan who could barely stand up. Amy explained she’d taken revenge on Dan for spiking another woman’s drink and got Aadi to help her.
Eventually they took Dan to A&E, but Amy was soon in trouble with the police when the hospital staff found that Dan had overdosed on GHD and could die.
Aadi tried to cover for Amy, but DS Swain (Vicky Myers) was suspicious.

In upcoming episodes there’s a tense wait for Amy as she hopes that Dan won’t be able to remember what happened to him before he passed out. DS Swain continues to question her, warning her that she could be facing five years in prison.
It’s a terrible ordeal for Amy, and Aadi makes it clear he’s ready to support her throughout. And when he leans in for a kiss, she kisses him back.
Suddenly she’s overcome by a wave of panic and pulls back, leaving Aadi feeling awkward and worrying that he’s made a huge mistake.
Amy is, of course, still deeply affected by being raped by her friend Aaron Sandford (James Craven), who was someone she previously liked and trusted. Have Aadi’s actions made her trauma resurface?

Corrie’s boss Iain MacLeod told us that there will be a love story for Amy and Aadi as these events mark a turning point for the characters.
‘This story is a really significant staging post in our ongoing fostering of this closeness between Aadi and Amy,‘ he said. ‘I sort of feel like them being best friends, and having each other’s back, come what may, and this kind of really, really long range love story that we’re hoping to tell with them.’
