It’s a new era for the Rovers (Picture: ITV)
The Rovers Return is entering a new era in Coronation Street after being sold to Newton and Ridley, though it is soon set to change hands again.
Jenny Connor (Sally Ann Matthews) got a big shock in recent scenes when she discovered that Newton and Ridley was being sold to another company, Waterford Incorporated.
This left jenny and her staff concerned about their jobs, as they desperately hounded Henry Newton (George Banks) for information.
However, it turned out that he was as in the dark as them about the whole deal, and was devastated to have to tell them that there was nothing he could do to stop it.
Determined to stay positive, Jenny assured her staff that businesses are taken over all the time, and it usually works out for the best.

‘Elon Musk bought Twitter and that turned out alright,’ she tried to enthuse. Bad example, Jenny.
Soon, Lydia Flint, representative from Waterfords, was paying the Rovers a visit, already eyeing up what was set to change.
Thankfully, it was good news for the staff, as Jenny assured them that they would all be keeping their jobs.

Daisy Midgeley (Charlotte Jordan) was less impressed by the fact they would have to wear uniforms, and they were quick to make fun of Lydia’s eagerness to have quotes written on the wall.
Luckily for fans of the Rovers decor, Lydia made it clear that they liked to keep the original character of their pubs, so it doesn’t seem like much is set to change on that front.
In fact, the biggest change for the Rovers isn’t set to come from Waterfords at all, but from Jenny’s new house guest.
