Mason Radcliffe’s (Luca Toolan) horrific bullying towards Liam Connor (Charlie Wrenshall) takes another dark turn in Coronation Street soon as the teen is forced to take action to try and prevent himself from getting hurt again.
In a storyline that’s been sometimes uncomfortable to watch, Mason has relentlessly bullied young Liam and so far, he hasn’t faced any consequences for his awful behaviour.
After Liam briefly highlighted Mason’s behaviour to Maria (Samia Longchambon) and Gary (Mikey North), he was confronted by the bully and his mates. He was called a rat and had rubbish thrown over him, with the entire showdown being filmed for an online video.
Coming up, Gary and Maria see Liam off to school but as soon as their backs are turned, he legs it back to the flat.

All alone, Liam access the school website and reports himself absent due to illness.
In the cafe, Maria tells Gary that the school phoned and reported they haven’t seen Liam for a week.

Towards the end of the week, when Liam tries to throw a sickie, Maria insists that he must go to school.
As the bus for school pulls away, Maria realises that Liam has left his phone and catches up with him at the school gates.
Liam is utterly mortified to be seen with his mum at school and, unbeknownst to them, Mason starts filming.

Later, Mason snatches Liam’s phone from him and makes him beg for it back, but then refuses to hand it over while the other kids laugh.
Liam hurries away, utterly mortified, and heads for the school exit.
