Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) has been at war with dog abuser Terry in Coronation street recently, after spotting him mistreating his dog at the precinct several weeks ago.
Their feud escalated quickly when Evelyn sought to rescue the poor dog, taking her home when Terry wasn’t paying attention.
However, Terry soon realised what had happened, and went on to hold Evelyn hostage in Alahan’s, demanding that she give him back his dog.
Thankfully, Evelyn was able to escape, and Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) ended up reporting Terry to the police, leading to his arrest.
Despite her horrific ordeal, Evelyn isn’t prepared to let Terry get away with his treatment of dogs, and in upcoming scenes she attempts to gather proof that he is running an illegal puppy farm like she suspects.

She scours the internet for information, before later striking lucky when she spots Terry at the precinct, leaving the pound shop with a tray of puppy food.
Determined to get to the bottom of his behaviour, she makes the risky decision to follow him.
However, Terry has his wits about him, and he has soon caught onto her plan after realising that she has been tailing him.

In a bid to scare her off, he threatens her with violence.
Will this be enough to get Evelyn off his back, or will she put herself in danger to get to the truth?
In order to portray this storyline accurately, Coronation Street has teamed up with the RSPCA, and their inspector and performing animal welfare expert, Herchy Boal, was on set at all times to keep an eye on the welfare of the dogs being used for filming.

Show boss Iain MacLeod said: ‘It was hugely important to us to work with the RSPCA on this storyline, both in terms of the accuracy of the on-screen narrative and also the welfare of the animals on set during filming.
‘It is a really important story to tell, but it was also vital to make sure it was fun for the actors’ canine co-stars – and as all our behind-the-scenes footage shows, it certainly was!’
