Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) is determined to find proof that dog abuser Terry is running an illegal puppy farm in Coronation Street, and soon her investigation leads to trouble.
When she spots Terry exiting the pound shop with a tray of dog food, Evelyn decides to follow him, but he soon realises that she is trailing him and threatens her with violence.
After Evelyn and Cassie Plummer (Claire Sweeney) show him a puppy for sale online, suspecting Terry to be the one holding it, Roy Cropper (David Neilson) makes a call to inquire.
He gets through to a woman called Joan who happily gives him her address in the precinct, and soon Cassie is on her way over under the guise of delivering dog food.

After Terry’s address is divulged, Cassie heads straight there and creeps in through a downstairs window, where she is greeted by crate-loads of puppies and bags of cash.
However, Terry soon enters with a baseball bat, before being distracted by a noise outside, giving Cassie just enough time to stuff the cash in her pockets and scoop up the puppies as she attempts to make her escape.

When Terry enters the room, he surveys the open cages, but has Cassie made it out?
Later, Craig Tinker (Colson Smith) calls at Roy’s Rolls with news that Terry has been seriously assaulted, and onlookers reported Evelyn having argued with him outside his house prior to the incident.
As Evelyn is ushered into Craig’s police car, Cassie looks on, guiltily.

The following day, it’s good news for Evelyn when Craig informs the family that she is no longer under suspicion, but Cassie is uneasy as he explains that they are still looking for his attacker, with their main clue being his missing money.
When Hope Stape (Isabella Flanagan) later finds Cassie’s stash of cash, Cassie offers her a slice of the money in return for her silence. Will Hope be bought?
