There have been a number of celebrity cameos in Coronation Street over the years, with the soap attracting big names such as Lorraine Kelly, Status Quo and even Ian McKellen.
So it wouldn’t be completely out of the realms of possibility that Taylor Swift would one day tread the cobbles.
Well, in an alternate universe maybe.
But we have the next best thing coming up, as we will still welcome a Taylor Swift into the cast in some capacity – just in the form of a family pooch.
Heroic Evelyn Plummer (Maureen Lipman) recently rescued an abused dog from a nasty thug named Terry, and has brought the canine into the Corrie fold.
At No.9, Hope and Ruby fuss over it and announce that they’ve named her Taylor, after Taylor Swift.
But while Evelyn brings joy to her grandkids, her brave actions come back to haunt her.
Terry corners Evelyn in the precinct but she denies knowing anything about his dog.

Evelyn is horrified to find Cassie taking Taylor out for a walk and bundles them back into the house.
Unbeknownst to them, Terry watches from across the street. Terry tracks down Evelyn to the shop and flipping the sign to ‘closed’, he bolts the door.
Terry menacingly advances on Evelyn demanding to know what she’s done with his dog. When Dev finds the door locked he enlists Gary to help him break the door open, will they be in time?
