Can she fix things? (Picture: ITV)
Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown) almost lets the chance of a new romance slip through her fingers in upcoming Coronation Street episodes.
This would be a shame, as Dee-Dee’s love life has been quiet since her arrival in Weatherfield, by traditional soap standards. There’s been a flirtation with Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths), but that didn’t go anywhere after Dee-Dee discovered that he was dealing drugs through the bistro.
Rather than romance Dee-Dee has focused on her career and there’s been plenty to keep her busy. From helping Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows) to finally get justice, to her day job working alongside Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) at the solicitors, Dee-Dee has been involved in a lot of Street storylines.

Most recently she was called upon to defend Lauren (Cait Fitton) when she was arrested for causing criminal damage at the salon. When Dee-Dee arrived at the police station she met duty solicitor Joel (Callum Lill) – and there was an immediate spark between them.
In upcoming episodes Joel invites her out for a drink, explaining that he wants to pick her brains about US law – a subject she is very familiar with as she previously worked in America. It’s all an excuse for Joel who really wants to spend time with Dee-Dee, but she takes him literally and turns up with a pile of textbooks having completely failed to understand that it’s a date.

To be fair to Joel he’s not easily deterred and he admits that he’s not that interested in US law at all and it was just an excuse to ask her out. He suggests they could have dinner together, now they’ve clarified it will be an actual date.
Sadly Dee-Dee is genuinely busy for the next few nights, but this time it’s Joel’s turn to misunderstand the situation and he thinks she’s giving him the brush-off.

What he doesn’t know is that kind-hearted Dee-Dee had promised Adam she’d spend some time with him, to cheer him up as he’s feeling lonely.
Adam’s own romantic life might be in the bin currently as he and Sarah (Tina O’Brien) are getting a divorce, but he’s not willing to stand by and let Dee-Dee’s chances of happiness pass her by.
He cooks up a plan to get her and Joel together. But will it work?
Woops!
