Gemma accidentally poisoned Joseph (Picture: ITV)
Chesney Brown (Sam Aston) and Gemma Winter’s (Dolly-Rose Campbell) relationship is struggling in the aftermath of Joseph’s (William Flanagan) trip to hospital in Coronation Street.
Last week, Joseph was accidentally poisoned by Gemma.
It was a terrible mistake but, as a result of Joseph’s trip to hospital and a doctor being aware of what happened, social services had to pay a visit to the family.
When Caitlin (Gillian Jephcott) arrived, she explained that while an investigation took place, Gemma would have to live elsewhere and couldn’t see her children unsupervised.

The update made Gemma assume Caitlin was calling her a terrible parent, but she explained it was part of procedure and, if she followed the rules, she’d be back home again soon.
In Monday’s (December 4) episode, Gemma, Paul (Peter Ash) and Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) headed to court for Bernie’s (Jane Hazlegrove) sentencing.

The beloved character was told she must face at least half of her 3-month prison sentence behind bars, which left her loved ones devastated.
As Bernie headed to prison, Gemma returned home with her emotions all over the place.
She then got in contact with Big Garth, who was flogging the stolen gear as part of Bernie’s plan a few weeks ago.
Gemma attempted to get revenge but ultimately didn’t achieve anything.
Back at home, Gemma was chatting with Joseph, who had a headache.

She went into the kitchen to get some painkillers, but it happened just as Joseph opened the door for Caitlin, who was visiting again.
As she entered, Caitlin wasn’t impressed with the fact Gemma had broken the rules.
Sitting down with her and Chesney, Caitlin explained to the couple that if something like this happens again, Joseph and the quads could go into care while the investigation carries on.
