Brian Packham (Peter Gunn) gets some surprising news in upcoming Coronation Street episodes.
The character has been feeling a little lonely recently after Cathy’s (Melanie Hill) exit. He occupied himself by taking part in the Christmas amdram play and has even struck up a strong friendship with Mary (Patti Clare), but that faced a hiccup when Mary discovered it was Brian who wrote the Weatherfield Gazette review about their production of Roxanna.
Fortunately, Brian and Mary bury the hatchet next week, but when Brian receives an email from the family tree website informing him of an Italian cousin called Isabella, Mary despairs.
During the week, Brian tells Rita (Barbara Knox) that he’s planning a trip to Napoli to stay with his cousin and wonders if she’d like to look after the Kabin for him.
Rita refuses, so Brian asks Mary instead, explaining his plan to travel to Napoli and how he needs her help.

Awkwardly, Mary assumes that he’d like her to accompany him and confirms that she would be delighted.
Sadly, it’s not good news for Brian as he then gets a message from Isabella, who says that she’ll visit him in Weatherfield instead as her flat needs renovating.
So, no trip to Italy for Brian, but what will Isabella’s arrival bring?
