Amy faces more trauma in upcoming scenes (Picture: ITV)
Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) reaches breaking point and Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) faces life-altering news in Coronation Street scenes airing Wednesday, April 26.
Amy turns to a bottle of vodka after finding out she’s behind on her university work, after struggling to cope for weeks since being raped by Aaron Sandford (James Craven).
She drinks too much and passes out – and is discovered by Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) at Victoria Garden.
An ambulance arrives and Amy is rushed to hospital by paramedics. At A&E, Summer tells Amy’s parents Tracy (Kate Ford) and Steve (Simon Gregson) that Amy admitted she was raped.
When Amy wakes up, she tells her parents the truth – having previously tried to deny what happened to her – and says she needs help.
Aaron, angry after a confrontation with Aadi Alahan (Adam Hussain), then shows up at her bedside in hospital.

What will he say – or do?
Paul, meanwhile, is still dealing with the police – after stealing and crashing a car belonging to the recently-deceased Rufus.
His lawyer, Dee-Dee Bailey (Channique Sterling-Brown), tells him he should be free to go once they’ve finished checking CCTV footage… but Paul doesn’t care if he’s done for theft. Or worse.
He says he’s already facing a ‘life sentence’ due to his illness.
Paul then heads to an appointment with a specialist, who confirms that he does in fact have motor neurone disease (MND) – devastating news which leaves Paul and Dee-Dee reeling.
