Adam makes a deal with an old face (Picture: ITV)
Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) turns to Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor) for help in Coronation Street soon, but quickly realises the risks that come with doing a deal with a murdering gangster.
Harvey is the brother of Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths). He has been in prison since 2022 after killing Sam’s (Jude Riordan) mum, but recently made a return to cause trouble for his sibling.
When Damon headed back to Weatherfield, it became apparent he wanted to turn his life around and reunite with Sarah (Tina O’Brien). Initially, Sarah wasn’t prepared to spend time with Damon again after their affair ruined her marriage but this coming week, she’s more than ready to give him another chance as they spend the night together.
The next morning, Sarah invites Damon for a drink with her family. He agrees, but asserts that he must pay Harvey a visit first.

At the prison, Damon makes it clear that if Harvey pulls anymore stunts, he’s dead meat. His brother then makes a threat regarding Sarah, which is enough for Damon to lose his temper.
As Damon is taken away by guards, the interaction is spotted by Dee-Dee (Channique Sterling-Brown).

Back on the cobbles, Damon joins Sarah and her family in the Bistro but it’s terribly awkward and Audrey (Sue Nicholls), Gail (Helen Worth) and Nick (Ben Price) all make their disapproval evident.
Adam then storms in, tells Sarah he knows about Damon’s visit to the prison and doesn’t want him anywhere near Harry.

That evening, a frustrated and angry Adam heads back to the prison visiting room after making an appointment to see Harvey.
Later in the week, during another visit, Adam makes out that he’s looked over Harvey’s files and he’s got a watertight case for an appeal.

But will Adam’s plan backfire?
‘I’ve always really loved Adam and Sarah together and I’ve always believed in them so when I was told they were breaking up I was pretty gutted personally but in terms of the storyline it was exciting’, Sam Robertson said.
‘I’ve always thought that one day maybe they’ll get back together. I think ultimately Adam’s doing this because he loves Sarah so much and I think he’s being blinded by the love he has for her.
‘He’s willing to sacrifice his own profession, possibly his own liberty, his own reputation to save Sarah so I think that shows the extent of how much he really loves her.’
