Abi Webster (Sally Carman) pops to see Paul Foreman (Peter Ash) in Coronation Street soon, unaware of the devastating request he has for her.
This week in the ITV soap, Paul had an incredibly difficult day as a result of his motor neurone disease getting worse.
His assistant Moses was late for his shift, which caused Paul to try and move himself to his wheelchair so he could go to the toilet.
Unfortunately, a stressed Paul ended up falling, with Billy (Daniel Brocklebank) finding his partner on the ground and unable to move moments later.

That evening, Paul invited Todd (Gareth Pierce) over to talk about the situation.
Todd tried to tell his friend that he was just feeling terrible because he had a bad day, but Paul was adamant it was a sign the ‘end game’ had begun.
Topic of conversation then turned to Paul making his ‘own choices’ as he alluded once again to assisted dying.

In upcoming episodes, Todd will refuse to help Paul with his plan. Paul accepts that it’s too much to ask, but goes on to explain that he’s terrified of becoming a hostage inside his own body.
Still wanting to help his friend, Todd takes Paul to see Doctor Gaddas, but she refuses to prescribe him any morphine.
Later on, in the pub, Abi overhears Paul complaining to Todd that he couldn’t get his prescription and empathises.

In this new video, we see the moment Abi arrives at Paul and Billy’s.
Paul’s conversation starts with him highlighting the reality of MND. He says that he could wake up tomorrow and realise he’s lost complete mobility in his other hand – and there won’t ever be a time he gets it back.
As a curious Todd makes the tea in the background, Paul tells Abi that eventually, the MND will stop him from breathing on his own.
Once Abi asks if there’s anything she can do to help, Paul wonders if she’ll source him some drugs, which he intends to take to end his life.
