Claire Sweeney makes her arrival in Coronation Street soon as Cassie Plummer, Evelyn’s (Maureen Lipman) daughter.
The iconic character never talks about Cassie because Tyrone (Alan Halsall)currently believes that she’s dead.
The newcomer is Tyrone’s biological mother, and it was only meeting Evelyn that saw Ty discover Jackie Dobbs wasn’t actually his mum.
It’ll become apparent that Evelyn abandoned Ty at the station because she believed her daughter wasn’t able to look after her son, as she also has a major addiction to drugs.
As Evelyn’s past catches up with her, this new video shows the moment she sees Cassie in hospital.
Evelyn will cancel an evening with Roy (David Neilson) and Yasmeen (Shelley King) as she learns that her daughter is in A&E, who spent the day watching her on the cobbles.

In this new video, we see the moment Cassie wakes up after taking an overdose.
Watching her is Evelyn, who wonders how Cassie managed to find out where she lived.
It transpires that Cassie worked out Evelyn’s address while she was stealing money from her bag.
Cassie claims that she didn’t need the cash for drugs, but it’s clear Evelyn has been through this many times, as she fails to believe her.
Evelyn walks away, something Cassie says she does all of the time, but she’ll have a lot to deal with when her daughter returns to Weatherfield and manages to be let into Tyrone’s house by claiming that she’s a friend of his Nana’s.
On joining the cast, Claire said: ‘Even though I’ve been lucky enough to have enjoyed an amazingly varied career for nearly 40 years – being cast in Coronation Street is, to me, better than being cast in a Hollywood movie!

‘I’ve watched it all my life and can’t quite believe that I’ll now be stepping onto those famous cobbles myself. I was really nervous when I got the scripts to audition as this show means so much to me and my family and this is Corrie gold, I was beyond thrilled and very grateful when I got the call that Iain MacLeod is trusting me to play Tyrone’s Mum and work alongside one of my heroes, Dame Maureen Lipman.
