Bernie Winter (Jane Hazlegrove) does a complete 180 on her family in Coronation Street soon, as she pleads guilty after being arrested for handling stolen goods.
After learning how long it would take for Paul’s (Peter Ash) benefits to come through, Bernie took matters into her own hands and contacted Big Garth, her mate from the markets.
She asked him to flog the rest of the gear that she got from Shelly Rossington (Natalie Amber), as part of Shelly’s credit card scam.

While they chatted at the precinct, Bernie and Big Garth had no idea a police officer was taking photographs of them.
And when Bernie returned home, she was arrested.
Despite her initial confidence, Bernie is incredibly nervous in this new video as she takes to the stand at her hearing.
As Billy (Daniel Brocklebank), Paul, Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) and Gemma (Dolly-Rose Campbell) watch on, Bernie takes one look at duty solicitor Joel (Calum Lill) and then her loved ones, and then pleads guilty.

The family are shocked, and Paul will try his best to get the Judge to change her mind when she announces a custodial sentence will be imposed, but will his efforts be enough?

‘When they need her the most she’s not going to be there again. She should have that kind of tattooed on her arm as a reminder. Because it’s just another pattern, isn’t it? And it is the truth she has never been needed more and she has let them down.
‘By trying to help them she hasn’t thought through the possible consequences and now they are the ones paying the price of potentially not having her around. She’s in a mess.’
