Coronation Street Christmas spoilers: Yasmeen haunted by evil Geoff after fresh and hurtful shock

Stu Carpenter (Bill Fellows) has always tried to do the best for his granddaughter Eliza (Savannah Kunyo) in Coronation Street. This hasn’t been easy, as he’s had to watch Eliza being repeatedly let down by her dad, Dom (Darren Morfitt).

Stu knows that Eliza badly wants a relationship with her dad, but Dom has let her down on numerous occasions.

Stu has even contacted social services after Eliza turned up at his house with a black eye, but she insisted it was from her Taekwondo class and social services were satisfied that Dom was a fit parent.

Despite this Stu continued to have doubts and hired a private investigator who eventually uncovered the shocking fact that Dom was previously done for dangerous driving in Germany, and his fiancée and son were in the car at the time.

This seemed to be the information that Stu was looking for that would prove Dom was a bad parent and not fit to look after Eliza.

In upcoming episodes he quizzes Dom about what happened in Germany and then makes him an offer. Stu tells Dom he’ll give him £10,000 to stay out of Eliza’s life forever.

Over the Christmas period Eliza is upset when Dom once again fails to appear, this time letting her down when she expected to be spending Christmas with him.

Seeing how upset his granddaughter is, Stu worries that he might have made a mistake and he rings Dom, telling him how upset Eliza is and that he’s had a change of heart.

There’s someone else who’s badly affected by Stu’s actions, and that’s Yasmeen (Shelley King). Having been through a traumatic, abusive relationship with evil Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) it understandably took Yasmeen a very long time to trust Stu and allow him into her life.

She’s a person who prizes honesty and integrity, so when Stu admts to her that he paid Dom to make him stay away from Eliza, she’s absolutely horrified.

Yasmeen confides in Roy (David Neilson), telling him that once again she’s apparently allowed herself to fall for a man who does nothing but lie to her.

While Yasmeen is feeling sad and angry about Stu’s lies, when he says he thinks he should be honest with Eliza about what’s happened, Yasmeen advises him not to. She says that he’s the only family that Eliza has left and she’d be very hurt if she knew the truth.

Will Stu find a way to make things right with Eliza? And can he mend his fractured relationship with Yasmeen?
