Bobby searches for somewhere to stay (Picture: ITV)
Carla Connor (Alison King) is in for a huge surprise this Christmas in Coronation Street as comedian Jack Carroll joins the cast as Bobby, her nephew.
Bobby is the son of Rob Donovan, who is serving life in prison for the murder of Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan).
It becomes apparent that Rob was unaware he had a son until recently, but hadn’t got round to telling Carla.
A determined Bobby arrives in Weatherfield just after Christmas. He’s fallen out with his mum and looking for a place to stay, and it isn’t long until he starts running rings around his Aunty Carla.

Described as a ‘chip off the old block’ with ‘the gift of the gab’, Bobby plans on sticking around, but what drama will he get himself involved in?
And how will he get on with Carla’s other nephew Ryan (Ryan Prescott)?
Jack rose to fame at the age of 14 when he appeared in series 7 of Britain’s Got Talent. Becoming runner up in the competition, comedian Jack went on to appear in Saturday Night at the London Palladium, Jason Manford’s Funny Old Week and Live at the Apollo as well as completing his first national live tour.
He’s also had roles in CBBC shows, Doctors, and has written and starred in his own comedy short called Mobility.
Discussing his arrival to the show, Jack said: ‘I’m delighted and honoured to be playing a part in the history of the cultural institution that is Coronation Street. I hope Bobby brings viewers a lot of laughs in the vein of some of the street’s classic comedy characters.’

Peter’s exit is looming (Picture: ITV)
Carla recently left the cobbles to attend a business meeting in Spain. The decision came after Stephen (Todd Boyce) stole money from the account and left Underworld’s reputation in tatters.
Peter (Chris Gascoyne) told Carla that he would miss her dearly but knew she had to go, but both remained incredibly anxious at how much things would develop while Carla is away, given Peter was arrested for murdering Stephen this week.
