Gail and Ken took shots at one another (Pictures: ITV)
Ken Barlow (William Roache) hit back at Gail Platt (Helen Worth) in recent Coronation Street scenes when she challenged him on grandson Adam Barlow’s (Sam Robertson) choices.
Gail expressed her horror at Adam suggesting a divorce to wife Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) so soon after her leaving hospital.
Sarah had been taken in for an emergency scan after experiencing stomach cramps, and was devastated to learn that she had lost her baby.
Though Adam came to the hospital to support her, as soon as they got home he revealed that he couldn’t get past her betrayal and asked for a divorce.
Sarah and Adam’s relationship was in tatters following her affair with Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths), and learning that the baby wasn’t his was the final straw for Adam.

Having agreed to the divorce, Sarah and Adam decided to come to an agreement over access to Harry, with Adam pointing out that he felt like a father to him.
With Sarah in such a fragile state after the loss of her baby, Gail was furious with Adam’s behaviour, and expressed that to Ken.
Ken, however, was quick to hit back, pointing out that he thought Adam was well within his rights to ask for a divorce, considering Sarah’s infidelity.

While Gail insisted that she wasn’t disputing that, she argued that his timing was abysmal, and blamed Ken for not teaching him to be more sensitive.
Though Ken continued to argue the point that Sarah was unfaithful, Gail stated that Adam should be ashamed of himself, before storming off.
With Adam and Sarah set to divorce and Ken and Gail at odds, is this the beginning of a divide between the Barlow and Platt families?
Is a new family feud on the horizon?
