Metro – Constance Marten: I did nothing but show my baby love
The Metro says “Runaway aristocrat” Constance Marten has denied causing the death of her newborn baby by gross negligence, claiming she “did nothing but show her love” while giving evidence in court.
Marten and her partner, Mark Gordon, are on trial for the manslaughter by gross negligence of their daughter Victoria, who was found in a Lidl bag in a shed in Brighton last year.
The paper says the court heard the pair had “crisscrossed the country through winter in a bid to keep her” after their four older children were all taken into care.
