The controversy arose during Eurosport coverage of the women’s 4×100 relay on Saturday. The incident occurred after the Australian team—comprising Mollie O’Callaghan, Shayna Jack, Emma McKeon, and Meg Harris—secured gold for their country.
As the female athletes exited the Paris Aquatic Centre, the experienced commentator Ballard made a sexist remark.
