A cockroach has created a buzz at the Met Gala 2023 after strutting up the red carpet before the likes of Rihanna and Kim Kardashian.
Stars including Dua Lipa, Jennifer Lopez and Jared Leto led the arrivals at the New York fundraiser organised by Vogue editor Anna Wintour.
While Karlie Kloss and Serena Williams used the glitzy bash to debut their baby bumps for the first time, there was one guest in particular that stole the limelight.
A cockroach. Yes, you read that right.
Despite vying for attention from the likes of Rita Ora and husband Taika Watiti, the insect has well and truly captured the hearts of the internet.
The cockroach – we haven’t confirmed who they were wearing – was seen gatecrashing the red carpet, prompting laughter from the neighbouring photographers.

But the roach’s moment in the limelight wasn’t too last as a pap ran up to it before squelching it with his foot.
We guess it was there for a good time not for a long time.
Naturally, the cockroach’s appearance sent social media into a frenzy, with one Twitter user commenting: ‘Cockroach steals the show.’

Another joked: ‘Interesting how a cockroach made it to the met and I didn’t.’
Many others also speculated about the cockroach’s outfit and expressed their sadness when the creature met its demise.
While the cockroach made the cut, Blake Lively, like the rest of us, was watching the event unfold at home.
