Chelsea star Trevoh Chalobah could still leave in the January transfer window despite Bayern Munich withdrawing their interest, according to reports.
The Blues are looking to offload their academy star in the current transfer window and he had been linked to Thomas Tuchel’s side since the summer.
Tuchel’s Bayern wanted Chalobah at the start of the season – with the Bundesliga champions showing interest in a £25m deal – but it never got over the line.
Chelsea and Bayern had been in talks over a January move and after negotiations were stalled by Chalobah’s hamstring injury, Bayern reopened discussions after learning that the player would return to full fitness by the end of the month.
But according to the latest reports, Bayern have now pulled out of the race for Chalobah after the most recent round of talks.
It is believed that Chelsea remain open to loaning Chalobah out to a team outside of the Premier League, though, and that is a candidate for many teams abroad.
Chalobah has not played at all under Chelsea head coach Mauricio Pochettino and the versatile defender was deemed surplus to requirements in the summer.
