Liverpool have confirmed that they have recalled Fabio Carvalho from his loan spell at RB Leipzig.
But he is not expected to be back at Anfield for too long, with many clubs, including several from the Championship, reportedly interested in his services.
Carvalho joined Liverpool from Fulham in 2022 in a deal worth up to £7.7million, but found opportunities limited under Jurgen Klopp and ended up moving to the Bundesliga for this season.
However, the 21-year-old made just 15 appearances for Leipzig, and only three of them starts, totalling just 360 minutes of football.
Given his lack of game time, it was reported in early December that Liverpool were considering recalling him and on New Year’s Eve the plug was officially pulled.
Despite not featuring much at top-flight level, it is recognised that the attacking midfielder/winger has great potential and the Reds are now weighing up what to do with him.
The most likely option is he will be sent out on loan again and already there is plenty of interest in the Portugal U21 star, with Sky Sports reporting that Leicester City are after his signature.

The Foxes are eight points clear at the top of the Championship and fully expected to make an immediate return to the Premier League.
But they are not the only promotion-seeking side keen on Carvalho, with Fabrizio Romano claiming that Southampton are also in the race, but Liverpool will only loan their starlet out if frequent game time is assured.
Going into 2024, the Saints are third in the table, just three points off Ipswich Town and six clear of fourth-placed Leeds United.
