Jesy Nelson didn’t seem to think about what appearing on The Great British Bake Off might entail when she got her most recent manicure.
This became apparent when the Little Mix singer, 31, tried to pad some pie pastry into a tray, but found she wasn’t up to the task due to her mighty talons.
‘I’ll do it for you,’ said a helpful Prue Leith, who followed through on her promise as Jesy looked stumped at not being able to tackle the savoury treats herself.
The singer appeared on tonight’s episode of The Great Celebrity Bake Off: Stand Up To Cancer alongside Friends’ David Schwimmer, and comedians Rose Matafeo and Tom Davis.
But it wasn’t smooth sailing, and let’s face it: Jesy’s nails were not even her greatest obstacle as she tackled three baking tasks and dubbed them all a ‘failure’.
Fans of the show took to Twitter with some specific concerns though, as many called Jesy out on her long nails possibly being the most impractical Bake Off prep ever.

Others were concerned about the hygiene of such long claws, while a few also pleaded with Jesy to wear her long hair up as she worked on her baked goods (or bads).
One person said: ‘#GBBO get celebrities with long hair to tie it back!!! Jesy constantly flicking hers (along with her nails) are ridiculous.’
Another wrote: ‘Nails that render you completely useless. That’s a great idea! #GBBO.’
‘Did nobody advise Jesy Nelson in advance of appearing on Bake Off about what she’d actually be doing on the programme? The state of those talons!!’ a third quipped.
‘#GBBO Jesy…nails and hair…both making me heave…’ another fan wrote, while one pointed out her nails were a big no-no, as they said: ‘Jessie needs to take them nails off cos your not allowed them on in a cooking industry’. [sic]
Even the official GBBO Twitter account poked fun at Jesy’s nails, as they wrote: ‘Our thoughts are with Jesy Nelson’s manicurist at this tough time.’
At the start of the episode, Jesy joked: ‘This is the first thing I’ve cooked in my entire life.’
