The US House of Representatives has approved significant legislation that may lead to the banning of TikTok in the United States. Under this legislation, the Chinese parent company of the popular social media platform, ByteDance, would have a six-month window to divest its controlling stake, failing which the app would be barred from operation in the US.

In a recent development regarding the ongoing South China Sea dispute, China has accused the Philippines of ignoring proposals aimed at managing the conflict. According to an unnamed senior Chinese official speaking to the Manila Times, the proposals were “met with inaction by the Marcos administration”.

Leonid Volkov, a long-time ally of the late Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, has been attacked outside his home in Lithuania.  Volkov was attacked with a hammer and tear gas while in his car in Vilnius on Tuesday night.
