Greece’s Veterinary Directorate-General has lifted the ban on transporting local dairy products from Lesbos, allowing visitors to take aged cheeses, including feta and kasseri, off the island. This decision aims to boost local producers’ sales, particularly during the summer tourist season.
A man was reported missing while hiking in the isolated Rocca Capra area of Mount Etna, situated in the Valle del Bove at an elevation of approximately 1,400 metres. Rescue teams are currently conducting search operations in the challenging terrain.
A private helicopter crash on the Greek island of Sifnos has resulted in three fatalities, including a Greek pilot and a British newlywed couple. The aircraft crashed near homes in the Tholos region, igniting a fire. The cause of the incident remains under investigation.

Barcelona experienced significant flooding on Monday as heavy rains swept through the region, just days after devastating floods struck Valencia. The Spanish weather agency placed parts of Catalonia on red alert, with local media showing images of partially submerged cars on highways.
